Description Parivritta trikonasana, often a counter-pose to
triangle, is an incredible way to twist, balance, and breathe as you
add a revolution to your triangle posture. This is an advanced yoga
pose so take your time and focus on the details.
How to:
Step your right foot three to four feet in front of your left foot; turn your right toes forward and your left toes in at a 45-degree angle. Square your hips to face forward.
Extend your arms out to the side at shoulder height and reach through the fingertips.
Reach your left arm forward and then to the outside of your right foot as you twist your torso to the side and extend your right arm overhead. If you don't have neck issues, you can move your gaze up to your fingertips.
Try to keep the hips level and back long as you take several deep breaths. Exhale to release and then move into revolved triangle on the other side.
Benefits Revolved triangle pose
stretches the hips and spine, opens the chest, can relieve back pain,
and increases balance from side to side and can help improve
digestion.
Contraindications If you have a back or spine injury, you should only perform this pose with the help of an advanced teacher.
