Meditation

Why meditate? What kinds of meditation are there? Is there is one suitable for you? How it works? Why would it work to every single individual who would practice it? What about advanced techniques? How can you start? How to progress? What tools (music, mantras, etc.) are available for you? You will find answers to these and many more questions here (in this introductory article and subsequent, linked at the bottom and in the text, detailed articles). With all the best wishes from the bottom of my heart!

Is it complicated? Can I practice it?

It is simple. Very. And very natural for your mind. Have a look at the "Meditation Techniques" article for details on the very simple, zero-level technique you can try already today. You will start to notice positive effects in a few weeks. Read other articles listed at the end too. You can.

Don't believe blindly what others say...

Whoever told you it's very difficult, associated to a particular culture or religion, could be practiced only under guidance of a guru and only in Himalayas, etc. - either talked about something else or not quite right. Don't believe blindly what other say. Try it for yourself.

Commitment

Meditation is a tool. It is not a story - talking about it would not give you much benefits. - Using tools would show their usefulness. And if you are unsatisfied - put it aside and move on. But give it a fair try. You know it just as well: all the good things in your life come because you committed, spent time and energy... Try it for a few weeks at least.

How it works?

I will leave more advanced explanations and techniques for further, detailed articles. This introduction is for people who are starting and have this question in their minds. I'll give you an answer I usually give to people, who ask me this question first time. And other articles will follow. - Of course, there are many more answers to one single question. All depends on who and when asks. It depends on where you are on your path.

Mechanism

For a simple mindfulness meditation technique described in the "Techniques" article the mechanism is the following.
  • Observing your body and your breath (or in reality observing your mind) you train yourself to become aware of yourself, your environment and most importantly - your thoughts. Observing thoughts means that you gradually stop associating yourself with all the arising thoughts and becoming an observer, a master of them.
  • It will become evident to you that there is a difference between all the jumping thoughts and you.
  • Those thoughts you observe - they arise due to all kind of "outside" influences, they depend on environment. They may literally depend on the weather. - It's raining and you become unhappy.
  • With help of meditation you become aware of this. And instead of being taken away by those influences you may simply notice, observe them and consciously make your own decisions.
  • You don't have to be driven anymore, you will drive yourself: this very moment, this day, whole your life.
  • Training mindfulness changes you, makes you more positive - for your own benefits and benefits of others around you.

    Now answer yourself...

Was it complex? Did it involve an extremely complicated philosophy? Does meditation mechanism sounds difficult or questionable? - Well, it looks quite simple and obvious to me. Now it's up to you to try it, to have your own answer.

And I'm here for you - with all the materials you will find on this site, newsletters, "contact me" form, reviews and recommendations of other resources and all.
